After a brief chat with President Biden (Dana Carvey) and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff (Andy Samberg), Rudolph, playing Harris, sat down in front of a mirror and mused, “I wish I could talk to someone who’s been in my shoes… a Black, South Asian woman running for president, preferably from the Bay Area.” To the delight of the audience, the real Kamala Harris, 60, appeared opposite Rudolph, both wearing matching suits.

The crowd erupted in applause as Harris smiled and said, “You and me both, sister.” The two exchanged words of encouragement, with Harris reminding Rudolph’s version of herself, “You’ve got this.” The scene played on the rapport between them, as well as a few light-hearted jabs, referencing Trump’s recent flub with a garbage truck door.

As Rudolph laughed, Harris joked, “I don’t really laugh like that, do I?” to which Rudolph quipped, “A little bit.” The two then broke into a playful chant, “Keep calmala and carry on-a-la,” finally finishing each other’s sentence: “We know each other so well we even finish each other’s… belief in the promise of America.”
