Johnny Depp loses his head for The Walking Dead

One of the hottest and most versatile actors in Hollywood, Johnny Depp, is also known for taking up some of the choicest roles that leaves everyone talking about him.

In the latest episode of

The Walking Dead

, that airs every Monday on Star World Premiere HD, one may have seen three decapitated heads, one of which was the

Pirates of the Caribbean

star's famous face that appeared on-screen just for a few seconds or it seemed like his face anyway. The creators, though, confirmed that it in fact wasn’t Depp’s face and there was no cameo made by him on the show. It was actually a mocked-up likeness created by the show's director and special effects guru Greg Nicotero.

Xavier Berkeley, the actor who plays Gregory on the show, didn't have time to pose for a head cast, so the director offered up his own and suggested Depp's to see how attentive fans of the series are. "One of the other heads, I don't know if I'm going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp. I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something and we used Johnny Depp's head as a basis just for a clay sculpt", he said.

While Depp might not have posed for his latest 'head shot', but he has had a history of popping up on odd TV shows, previously appearing on British hits ‘The Vicar of Dibley’ and ‘The Fast Show’ – which was one of his favourite roles. The Walking Dead airs on Star World Premiere HD every Monday at 11 PM!
