Joan Vassos believes Martha Stewart shouldn’t underestimate the men of The Golden Bachelorette. During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Oct. 22, the 83-year-old lifestyle guru dismissed the idea of joining the dating show, saying she was unimpressed with the male contestants.

When host Andy Cohen asked if $1 million per episode could change her mind, Stewart shook her head, replying, “No, the guys aren’t hot enough.” Her friend, Snoop Dogg, chimed in, “It ain’t about the money, it’s about how hot the guys are.” In response to Stewart’s critique, Vassos, 61, later told Access Hollywood that she sent a direct message to Stewart, defending the men she got to know on the show. “I told her, ‘Okay, dating is hard out there, and I had a great group of guys,’”

Vassos shared. “She doesn’t know them like I do.
I got to know them both inside and out, and both are wonderful.” Access Hollywood host Lauren Herbert and her grandmother, Linda Vandergeest, agreed, saying Vassos had “a good group of guys.” Vassos credited the team for selecting them, explaining, “Their stories and backstories are also amazing. They’re there for a reason.”

Recalling her first impressions, Vassos added, “When they got out of the limos that first night, every single one did something memorable, and I wanted to know them more. I guess Martha didn’t watch or didn’t see what I saw in them—maybe you just have to be there in person.”
