Jeffrey Dean Morgan takes on new role as host of adventure series Destination X

Jeffrey Dean Morgan is set to explore new territory as he steps into his latest role as a TV host. The 58-year-old Walking Dead star has been announced as the host of NBC’s upcoming competition series, Destination X. Described as a "larger-than-life adventure competition series," Destination X combines fantasy and reality, taking contestants on a thrilling road trip with no clue of their location.


To win, they must decipher their mystery destinations. As contestants travel in the blacked-out Destination X bus, they’ll face challenges that offer clues to their whereabouts, while also encountering misdirections to keep them guessing. The first contestant to correctly identify the elusive Destination X will claim victory, with eliminations taking place each episode.


Contestants placing an X on the map farthest from the actual location are sent home. In a press release, Morgan expressed his excitement for the show, saying, “Destination X captivated me with its blend of travel, mystery, and gaming. I can’t wait to lead this wild guessing game as Master of Ceremony, guiding players through challenges that push their mental and physical limits." NBCUniversal’s Corie Henson also praised Morgan, stating, "He’s dashing, charming, and embodies the perfect host for this adventurous travel series.”


Destination X marks Morgan’s first foray into unscripted television, but it’s not his only upcoming project. At San Diego Comic-Con in June, Morgan and his The Walking Dead: Dead City costars unveiled a teaser for the second season of the spin-off series, continuing the legacy of the original The Walking Dead.
