DNA recovered from a single glove found near her Tucson, Arizona home appears to match the distinctive gloves worn by a masked suspect caught on her doorbell camera the night she vanished. This revelation, announced over the weekend, offers the first tangible link between physical evidence and the shadowy figure who approached her door.

Spotlight on the newly found glove evidence

The glove turned up in a field about two miles from Nancy’s residence, along a roadway where search teams had established a checkpoint. Out of roughly 16 gloves gathered in the vicinity, most discarded by volunteers scouring the desert terrain, this one stood apart. “The DNA profile recovered is distinct and appears to align with the gloves worn by the individual in the surveillance footage,” the FBI stated clearly. For weeks, the investigation leaned on chilling visuals: a medium-build man, around 5-foot-9, in a ski mask, jacket, pants, and an Ozark Trail backpack, striking the camera before Nancy’s blood was later found on her porch. Ransom notes added urgency, but no leads stuck until this glove surfaced. Unlike unidentified DNA inside her home, kept under wraps to protect the probe, this outdoor find ties directly to the suspect’s appearance.
