The six surviving couples will perform songs from Swift's career in the special episode, while DWTS choreographer Mandy Moore — who also created the routines for Swift's The Eras Tour — will serve as a guest judge.

ABC stated in a statement that the specific dance styles and music to which the couples will perform would be revealed at a later date.

In early October, Billboard was the first to report on the Swift special. Peta Murgatroyd, a contestant and professional dancer who is coupled with Brady Bunch star Barry Williams this season, indicated there will be a "Taylor Swift week" at the moment.

According to the show's release, fans will be able to vote during the show's live broadcast in the EST/CST time zones. Live fan votes will be combined with the judges' scores to determine which couples will be eliminated.

This season, Julianne Hough joined the show as a new host, alongside returning co-host Alfonso Ribeiro.

Judges Derek Hough, Bruno Tonioli, and Carrie Ann Inaba return as well, though famous judge Len Goodman is glaringly absent this season, having retired at the end of season 31 before passing away from bone cancer at the age of 78 in April.

During the premiere, the series paid tribute to Goodman by renaming and redesigning their ultimate reward as the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Charity Lawson, Lele Pons, Ariana Maddix, Jason Mraz, Barry Williams, Harry Jowsey, Xochitl Gomez, and Alyson Hannigan are among the cast members this season. Among the contenders who have since been eliminated are Matt Walsh, Mauricio Umansky, Mira Sorvino, Tyson Beckford, and Jamie Lynn Spears. The battle is still on to see who will lift the trophy this year.
