Grotesquerie, written and created by Ryan Murphy, will debut its first two episodes on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The series stars Niecy Nash-Betts as Detective Lois Tryon, who is confronted with a string of disturbing crimes in a small town that feel eerily personal.

At home, Lois struggles with her own challenges, including a strained relationship with her daughter (played by Raven Goodwin), a husband in long-term hospital care, and her internal battles. As the story unfolds, Lois teams up with Sister Megan (Micaela Diamond), a nun and journalist with a troubled past. While Sister Megan believes in the goodness of humanity, Lois fears the world is falling into darkness. Together, they follow a trail of clues that leads them deeper into a sinister mystery. The 10-episode series also features Lesley Manville as Nurse Redd, Nicholas Alexander Chavez as Father Charlie, and Courtney B. Vance as Lois' husband, Marshall Tryon.
