D’Arcy Carden, best known for her role as Janet in the beloved series The Good Place, is keeping her ties with her former castmates strong. The actress recently made a delightful cameo in Ted Danson’s new Netflix series A Man on the Inside, which premiered on November 21.
The eight-episode series, created and executive produced by The Good Place showrunner Michael Schur, stars Danson as Charles, a retired professor turned private investigator’s assistant. Charles goes undercover at a senior living community to help solve a case, blending humor with heartfelt commentary on the challenges faced by seniors. Carden appears in the final episode as Professor Della Denunzio, who invites Charles to deliver a guest lecture in her class, marking another memorable collaboration between the two.
This isn’t Carden’s first time reuniting with her Good Place family this year. She also appeared in Nobody Wants This, a Netflix romcom series that premiered on September 26, starring Kristen Bell. In the show, Bell plays Joanne, a sex podcaster who falls for newly single rabbi Noah (Adam Brody), despite pushback from friends and family. Carden portrays Ryann, one of Joanne’s supportive friends who cheers on her budding romance.
The Good Place connection runs even deeper in Nobody Wants This, with fellow alums Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, and Leslie Grossman making appearances. Arlook plays Noah’s ex-girlfriend, Rebecca, while Tohn and Grossman take on comedic roles that add layers to the romantic chaos.
Fans of The Good Place will no doubt be thrilled to see these actors continuing to work together, bringing their signature charm and humor to new stories. With these reunions, Carden and her costars prove that their on-screen chemistry transcends any one series.
