Coen brothers developing an anthology series at Netflix

The Coen brothers are heading to

Netflix

for a new Western anthology that will feature six tales about the American frontier.

Titled "The Ballad of

Buster Scruggs

", the series will be written and directed by Joel and Ethan Coen and will debut next year, reported Deadline.

The project, produced by Annapurna Television, will feature Tim Blake Nelson as Buster. Each chapter in the series will have a distinct story about the American West.

The Coens are the latest to join the list of top filmmakers, such as

David O Russell

and

J J Abrams

, who have made the crossover to TV.
