It was a live, two-hour season finale which Simon Cowell later called "the best final I have ever sat in on in my life."

Lee, who is blind and has autism, was a favourite with judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough. His audition on "A Song For You" hit all the right chords, making Gabrielle give him a golden buzzer instantly.

When he sang "Bridge over troubled water" with the special permission of Paul Simon, it left everyone emotional, and in awe of the singer and his talent.

His performance in the semifinals and finals where he sang "You are the reason" and "Lost Without You" made him one of the most competent performers of the singing reality show.

While he was loved by the judges and the audience alike, Lee had a tough battle in the finale.

The other finalists included violinist Tyler Butler-Figueroa, opera singer Emanne Beasha, Detroit Youth Choir, light up dance group Light Balance Kids and India's acrobatic dance group V. Unbeatable.

However, it was Kodi who finally won over America with his soulful voice and was declared the winner.
