that airs on a private channel is taking an interesting turn. The lead pair of the daily soap, Anuradha and Ronodip, are about to get married and the shoot of their elaborate wedding sequence is on in full swing. All the rituals of

mehendi

,

haldi

and

sangeet

are being followed during the shoot. But there is a twist in the tale at this juncture of the story. Anuradha’s father in the serial, played by actor Sanjib Sarkar, doesn’t know that his daughter and Ronodip have drawn a secret pre-nuptial contract. Years ago, Anuradha’s marriage was fixed with Ronodip, but it was cancelled since Anuradha was in love with someone else.

“The serial is at a very interesting point now. I am excited about the wedding sequence. We are following all the big and small rituals of a Bengali wedding. In the serial, it was shown that my father suffered a heart attack because he was subjected to a huge embarrassment. One can say that this marriage is a sort of a cover-up of that event,” said Sharly Modak, who essays the role of Anuradha. The bride’s mother in the serial, Shuroma (played Ranjini Chattopadhyay), also spoke to us. She said, “In Chirodini Ami Je Tomar, we are shown hailing from a middle-class family. And in any such family, a daughter’s marriage is a big event. We always seek a groom from a decent and well-to-do family. Ronodip is the ideal groom for our on-screen daughter. We are shooting the gaye holud sequence of the marriage.”
