Raj Chakraborty, the ace director of the Bengali entertainment industry, is bringing a new serial to Bengali TV after 'Gohuli Alap'. As per sources, the new Bengali mega serial will mainly be a family drama where Ushasi will be seen playing the character of the female lead.
Ushasi began her acting career from Bengali television when she starred in her first TV serial ‘Milon Tithi’. After ‘Milon Tithi’, the actress went on to star in her next serial ‘Bokul Katha’ where she played the role of Bokul, the female protagonist of the show. Her performance in the TV show was praised by the viewers. She was last seen in ‘Kadambini’, essaying the titular character on the show. The show that delved into the life of Dr Kadambini Ganguly, the first female medical doctor in India, was discontinued during the Covid-19 period in 2020.
After ‘Bokul Katha’s conclusion, Ushasi took a long break from television projects. The actress then went on to focus on her acting career on OTT. In 2023, she starred in Indranil Roychowdhury’s ‘Chhotolok’ which garnered roaring appreciation from both viewers and critics. Apart from ‘Chhotolok’, Ushasi has also worked in web series like ‘Kumudini Bhavan’, ‘Gobhir Joler Maach’, ‘Noshtoneer 2’, and others. The new Bengali serial will be the fourth television project in Ushasi’s acting career. She will soon be seen on the big screen with Ritwick Chakraborty in ‘Ayurekha’.
According to sources, the promo of the series has already been shot. The shooting of the show is expected to start soon once Durga Puja is over. set to be back on television.
