The cast and crew are in a celebratory mood as they crossed a new milestone. The Bengali TV show, narrating the journey of a girl, who drives auto rickshaw to make the ends meet and bear the expenses of her education, managed to strike a chord with Bengali audience. A strong star cast and realistic touch in the storyline, worked in favour of this daily soap. While ‘Tumpa Autowali’ introduced Sayan to the audience, the show also features popular faces like Sairity Banerjee,
Dolon Roy, Joyjit Banerjee, Rii Sen and others in prominent roles. Dona and Sayan’s chemistry is yet another highlight of the show besides a realistic touch in the dialogues and crisp narration.
Interestingly, ‘Tumpa Autowali’ is the Bengali remake of hit Kannada soap opera ‘Mithuna Raashi’, which premiered in 2019. The show, starring popular Kannada artists Swaminathan Anantharaman and Vaishnavi, have been a smash hit and successfully ran for 3 years. It inspired the makers to launch it in Gujrati (Rashi Rikshawwali), Marathi (Jeev Majha Guntala), Hindi (Saavi Ki Savaari) and Tamil (Ullathai Allitha) besides Bengali.
