Bengali show ‘Madhabilata’, starring Shrabani Bhunia in the titular role, will soon start its journey on the small screen. The upcoming project will premiere on August 22, at a prime time slot. Interestingly, ‘Madhabilata’ will replace ‘Mon Phagun’ which features Sean Banerjee and Srijla Guha in the lead roles. This change comes as a shocker to many, since the TV show enjoys a good fan base and scores well on the TRP chart too.
The recent announcement has left ‘Mon Phagun’ fans disappointed.
Speaking about the soon-to-be-launched television serial, it has an ensemble cast. It will feature actor Sushmit Mukherjee as the male lead opposite Shrabani. Prior to this, he was seen in TV serial ‘Boron’ which also featured Indrani Paul who is currently busy with the daily soap ‘Nabab Nandini’. ‘In Madhabilata’, he will play the role of a modern guy whose passion is photography. Senior artist Kushal Chakraborty will play Swastik’s reel dad. Kushal will essay a negative role. Mousumi Saha, Chandni Saha, Sandy Rong and others will also be seen playing prominent roles.
The show will star Shrabani as a courageous village belle who raises her voice against a group of people who illegally demolish trees for their benefit.
Besides ‘Madhabilata’, there are a few other shows gearing up for its launch. ‘Jagaddhatri’, ‘Canning Er Minu’ are also among them.
