Television serial ‘Kanyadaan’, narrating the story of a loving father and his five daughters, has completed a successful run of 600 episodes. Starring veteran artist Arindram Ganguly as father, ‘Kanyadaan’ is aired on a popular General Entertainment Channel, which is going to launch John Bhattacharyya and Debadrita Basu starrer ‘Alor Thikana’.
The cast and crew enjoyed a celebratory mood yesterday (September 2). They took out some time from the busy shooting schedule and enjoyed a cosy success party together on Kanyadaan’s set. All the artists along with the members of the team who work behind the camera tirelessly to make the show a success, had a cake-cutting ceremony.
Customised cakes were brought and the teammates had a whale of a time celebrating their new milestone.Daily soap ‘Kanyadaan’ features Deepsheta Mitra, Priya Malakar, Swapnila Chakraborty, Ritoprota Dey, and Laboni Ghosh as reel sisters. Actors Neil Chatterjee, Aditya Roy, Daipayan Chakraborty, Aditya Chowdhury also play meaty roles in this television serial.
The storyline of this Bengali show resembles with hit Tamil soap opera ‘Metti Oli’ which also has been remade in other languages including Kannada (Mangalya), Malayalam (Minnukettu), Hindi (Shubh Vivah), and Telugu Akshintalu). A simple yet relatable storyline and interesting narration helped ‘Kanyadaan’ strike a chord with Bengali audience.
