A number of Bengali daily soaps are ending in order to provide a time slot for the upcoming launches. While hugely popular culinary show 'Rannaghor', hosted by Sudipa Chatterjee, ended after 17 years, daily soaps 'Bodhiswattor Bodhbuddhi', 'Madhabilata', 'Uron Tubri', and a few others concluded their journey on Bengali TV sooner than expected.
The trend continues with some other daily soaps on the list including 'Lokkhi Kakima Superstar', Saheber Chithi' which are about to endc soon.
Adding one more to the list, Raj Chakraborty produced 'Godhuli Alap' is likely to conclude its journey according to industry sources. The much-talked-about show features seasoned actor Koushik Sen playing the male lead. Raj brought a fresh pair as the lead by roping in Somu Sarkar, who is new to the tinsel town. Koushik and Somu’s reel chemistry as a married couple, who try their best to continue the journey despite age difference and contrasting personality, managed to impress the audience. The ensemble cast includes seasoned artists Sohag Sen,
Sumanta Mukherjee, Milan Roy Chowdhury playing prominent roles. ‘Godhuli Alap’ also has actors Bhaswar Chatterjee, Arijita Mukhopadhyay, Riju Biswas, Arpita Mukherjee, Mou Bhattacharya and Roshni Bhattacharyya.
Though 'Godhuli Alap' which narrates the story of a successful lawyer and a much younger village belle, had set high hopes in the beginning with its stellar star cast and an interesting storyline, the daily soap started lagging in terms of TRP. It was shifted to a late-night slot earlier and the makers added a time leap backed with some big twist, but it didn't cast a spell on TRP charts.
