TV show ‘Bijoyini’ completes 100 episodes

Rudrajit Mukherjee

in leads, has recently completed 100 episodes. The cast and crew of the show celebrated the milestone on the sets of the show.

With this show, actress Anjana Basu made her comeback and she is seen playing the character Subarna, which has grey shades.

The storyline of ‘Bijoyini’, revolves around a passionate dancer

Keka

(played by Swastika), who isn’t shy to pursue her dream of becoming a renowned dancer. From performing in ‘Macha’, to riding a toto to meet the daily expenses, Keka has to do all the odd jobs, to continue her struggle. She has to face a lot of stigma for performing in ‘macha’.

Ritwaik (played by Rudrajit) aka Rick, the son of famous dancer Subarna, falls in love with Keka, as she is the daughter of their house help. But his mother is dead against the relationship. Following the destiny, the lovebirds get married but Subarna leaves no stones unturned to stop Keka from achieving her dream.

The show which was launched in December, last year has witnessed many twists. The show started its journey with Lekha Chatterjee and Imtiaz Haque. But the makers were not happy with the TRPs and the lead pair was replaced overnight. Interestingly, after the entry of Swastika and Rudrajit, the numbers have increased in terms of TRP, reports suggest.
