Television actors gear up for a relaxed Durga Puja

I can’t wait to witness kolkata’s Durga Puja
I’ll experience Kolkata’s Durga Puja for the first time. I hail from Singur and I’ve never witnessed the splendour of Kolkata’s Pujo. But I have heard a lot about it. I have bought five saris for Pujo — a selection of silks, tussar and chiffons. I plan on buying five salwar kameez sets for Pujo mornings. I’m also looking forward to sindoor khela. I remember a Calcutta Times campaign which explored how sindoor khela is for everyone and not just for married women. Devlina (Kumar, actress) has invited me to her place to celebrate Pujo and I’m sure we’ll have a gala time!

I love visiting puja pandals on all days
I will be shooting till Panchami. On Shashthi and Saptami, I’ll be busy judging pandals so that’ll be a good opportunity to see the idols. I love visiting pandals and appreciating the intricate details and idols. We haven’t celebrated Pujo for two years, because of the pandemic. So this year, I’m hoping to make up for it! On Ashtami, I’ll offer anjali to Ma Durga and will catch up with my friends. The Ashtami lunch is special for me and for years now, I’ve been visiting my childhood friend Saptarshi (Ghosh). His mother cooks bhog and it tastes divine! I go out with my parents for dinner on Ashtami, and I’ll probably do it this year as well. On Nabami, I’ll be meeting my industry friends for a house party. I haven’t been able to get any Pujo shopping done since I have been shooting constantly. I’ve bought a sari for my mother.

For me, pujo is all about adda with friends and family
I’m shooting till Panchami. Post that, I’ll have a break. I’m flying to Rajasthan on Nabami. I have till Ashthami to have fun with my friends and family. I will also be judging some Pujo pandals. For me, Pujo is all about adda with friends. We will go pandal hopping and of course, we will be eating out every day. I’ve already bought a sari, but I plan to go shopping this weekend.

I’m planning on spending some time with my parents

I’m focusing on my fitness regimen before Pujo. I’m a fitness freak and wellness is really important to me. I’m spending a lot of time in the gym. This Pujo, I’m planning on spending some time with my parents. I love pandal-hopping because I get to see so many kinds of traditional daaker saaj er protima... it feels quite surreal.
For Pujo mornings, I’m sticking to dhuti-kurtas but in the evenings, I may have to attend some house parties with friends. So, I bought some shirts and trousers as well. My shopping is almost done because I started a few months ago. So I could complete my shopping in spite of a busy filming schedule.

I’ll go pandal hopping and eat to my heart’s content

I usually make plans with my friends if I am spending Pujo in Kolkata. But I’m spontaneous… so, one fine morning, I might fly off to the hills! If I am in Kolkata, I will go pandal hopping with friends and eat to my heart’s content because Pujo is all about having fun and limitless adda, with junk food! During Pujo, I wear ethnic clothes, so I bought sarees and kurtis. I also bought make-up and new shoes because that’s a tradition that I still follow.
