Sritama Bhattacharjee to play a meaty role in comedy-drama ‘Basanta Bilash Mess Bari’

Popular Bengali actress Sritama Bhattacharjee, who recently started her new inning in politics, will soon be seen in a daily soap. She has bagged a meaty role in the popular comedy-drama ‘Basanta Bilash Mess Bari’. The shooting for the upcoming episode is yet to start.
Sritama will be seen playing male protagonist Rahul’s (Arpan Ghoshal) stepmom in the show.The character has interesting shades. She will play the role of a greedy woman who is always after money and got married to Rahul’s dad for the same reason. With Sritama’s entry, Basanta Bilash Mess Bari’s story will take an interesting turn. In the recent episodes, the viewers have seen lovebirds Mahua and Rahul finally getting married after facing several hurdles. Now, Rahul’s mom will play havoc in Rahul-Mahua’s life since she is against the relationship. While Mahua is determined to win over her mom-in-law, the latter doesn’t like her new bahu rani at all. The doting sasu maa will play all sorts of tricks to make sure Mahua and Rahul’s relationship falls apart. While the bouma and shashuri are at the battle field, helpless Rahul lands in a tough spot. The entire episode will be full of comedy.
Sritama, who rose to fame with one of Bengali TV’s hit soap opera ‘Maa Tomay Chara Ghum Asena’, is excited to be a part of the show. The actress is also hosting cookery show ‘Rannaghar’ along with actress Lopamudra Sinha.
