Koneenica Banerjee is excited about her para puja Bakul Bagan Sarbojanin Durgotsab. And why not? This time the 13-ft idol has been painted by none other than Padma Shri Paresh Maity.
“This is the 87th year of this puja and we all are excited as Paresh Maity has done this idol. It is a huge pratima," said Koneenica, who is just back in Kolkata after a spine surgery.
“Since I was not keeping well, I couldn't help much in Puja preparations. Though I won't be able to dance to the beats of the dhakis this time, I will make up for it by inviting my friends and asking them to fill in my shoes," she said, adding that she hopes to go pandal hopping and eat out with friends.
She adds that unlike every year, this is the first time her shopping is done before Pujas.“Thankfully, I won't be running around for my blouse and shoes this time. Because of the surgery, I completed my shopping long back and know exactly what to wear on those four days. I will only be wearing saris, the actress said, adding she is looking forward to the Nabami bhog that her mother — no less than a masterchef — prepares every year. Koneenica's tip for fashionistas? Go for comfort. “Look proper, but since you would be with friends, nobody will judge you. Wear bright colours. A bindi and lipstick should seal the deal if you are sporting ethnic wear," she advised.
