Sourav Saha, best known for his portrayal of Shree Ramakrishna Paramhansa in period-drama ‘Rani Rashmoni’, has recently joined the cast of family-drama ‘Neem Phuler Modhu’. In the show, he is playing Hrishikesh’s role. According to the story, he is late Zamindar Krishnakishore Roy’s successor and the rightful owner of an old idol. He arrives at Dutta household to claim the Ganapati idol made of gold which is believed to be kept somewhere inside Dutta residence.
According to the story, Krishnakishore and Debnarayan Dutta, Srijan’s great grand-father, were friends. The former allowed his friend to keep the Ganapati idol for the next 65 years. According to the deal, after that said period, the Roy family will bring back their idol.
His arrival simply spices up the drama quotient. While Dutta family doesn’t want to share the details of the idol with anyone, the latter is determined to claim his possession. But Bahu Parna mediates and announces that the idol will be handed over to its rightful owner.
She requests Hrishikesh to stay with the family until the idol is found. Parna starts a mission to find it out. Srijan and Dutta family keep trying their best to throw Hrishikesh out of their house. It leads to some hilarious incidents too.
Sourav as Hrishikesh Roy, surprised the audience. The actor, who played a larger-than-life personality in Bengali TV’s one of the most popular shows, showcased his comic timing in ‘Neem Phuler Modhu’. Sourav as Hrishikesh, proved his versatility as an artist yet again. Fans have been heaping praises on him.
With ‘Neem Phuler Modhu’, Sourav can be seen in a fiction show after a brief gap. After ‘Rani Rashmoni’ ended its journey, Sourav wasn’t seen in any daily soap. However, he kept his relationship with small scree alive by appearing in non-fiction shows. Soon after the period-drama ended, Sourav took part in ‘Jodi No. 1’, a couple-based reality show.
