Shubho Bibaho: Kanan Devi picks Sudha as the perfect match for her grandson Tej

‘Shubho Bibaho’ starring Honey Bafna and Sonamoni Saha, is picking up pace. The newly launched Bengali serial revolves around the journey of a divorced woman and how she defies the stigma of being a divorcee. On one hand, Sudha, the female protagonist, is a woman who chooses to focus on her professional life after handling a blow in her personal life.As she recovers from a failed marriage, her professional life takes a flight. On the other hand, Tej, the male protagonist, hails from an aristocratic business family. Despite being one of the most eligible bachelors in town, Tej is not that interested in settling down. In his mind, he will agree to marry whoever his family chooses for him. Meanwhile, Kanan Devi, the matriarch of Tej’s family, picks Sudha as the match for her grandson Tej. Will Sudha and Tej agree to the marriage?

The latest promo of ‘Shubho Bibaho’ is out. In that promo, Kanan Devi is seen bestowing Sudha with the priceless heirloom jewellery. Sudha, who is taken aback with the decision of Kanan Devi, meets Tej, who is rather settled with reality. Sudha wants to tell Tej about her past before they step into the matrimonial relationship. But Tej is rather indifferent. Tej tells Sudha that he is aligned with whatever decision his family takes regarding his marriage. Tej also tells Sudha that it is not necessary for her to disclose her past to him, nor will he do the same. Will this marriage work at all?
As per the story of ‘Shubho Bibaho’, Sudha is a divorced woman, who lives her life on her own terms. She runs a company that manages events and weddings. On the other hand, Tej is one of the most popular eligible bachelors in the neighbourhood and belongs to an aristocratic business family. Sudha and Tej cross each other and there’s an instant spark. Will they take that as a sign and give each other a chance to move forward together?
‘Shubho Bibaho’ stars Sonamoni Saha as Sudha, as the female protagonist on the show. Honey Bafna is seen as the male lead Tej on the show. Saswati Guhathakurta plays the character of Kanan Devi, the matriarch.
Sonamoni was last seen in ‘Ekka Dokka’, after ‘Mohor’, which aired on the same TV channel. On that show, she was paired up with Saptarshi Maulik. On the other hand, Honey Bafna has been a popular face on Bengali TV after working in serials like ‘Bokul Katha’, ‘Prothoma Kadambini’, ‘Sohag Jol’.
