The issue regarding shoots of new TV shows is likely to end. On Tuesday, members of the ‘Federation of Cine Technicians and Workers of Eastern India’ (FCTWEI), Artists’ Forum and TV producers attended a meeting to arrive on a solution. Earlier, FCTWEI expressed its disagreement to working for upcoming projects until the MOU with the TV Producers is being signed.

But today, after the meeting attended by Arup Biswas and director-producer Raj Chakraborty, all the stakeholders have decided to start shooting for new shows from tomorrow (June 30).
Arup shared that they learned the issues faced by the technicians, producers and artists. After a brief discussion, the Federation agreed to allow the technicians to start working for new TV shows from tomorrow. The issue between Federation and TV Producers regarding the MOU will be discussed further. In today’s meeting, Raj and Arup also discussed the issue of framing a guideline to avoid any ‘friction’ and ensure a 'smooth workflow'. Earlier, they had decided to frame the guideline within July 20 and follow it by 31 July. All the Tolly stakeholders will hold yet another meeting to discuss the matter.
On Saturday, FCTWEI had announced that the technicians will work only after the proposed MOU is signed with TV Producers. They alleged that the MOU, which highlights the welfare of technicians, was supposed to be signed years back.
Sean Banerjee and Srijla Guha starrer Mon Phagun’s shoot was initially scheduled to start today. But due to the current situation, the unit couldn’t start. Bengali television will soon have a few other shows, too. Mythological show ‘Sree Krishna Bhakto Meera’, ‘Dhulokona’, and Debashree Roy and Kushal Chakraborty starrer ‘Sarbajaya’ are in the pipeline. The current issue between Federation and TV Producers affected these projects.
