Suman Dey, who is now busy playing a king in fantasy-drama ‘Khirer Putul’, is one of the most popular faces on Bengali television. The actor, who stepped into the showbiz world with many dreams several years ago, has already tasted success.
Suman said, “While stepping into the showbiz, I had many dreams. I have been working hard to realise those.”
One of his ‘dream come true’ moment was sharing the screen with veteran actor
Soumitra Chatterjee. “I never thought that I would get a chance to share the screen with legendary actor Soumitra Chatterjee. I worked with him in a film in 2018, which is yet to be released. The experience is surreal and I will cherish it always. It has very strong cast which includes

Suman shared that his heart was beating fast when he saw the legendary actor the first time on the shooting set. “We were shooting in North Kolkata. I was too excited to see him in front of my eyes. I couldn’t believe that I would share the screen with a living legend. I touched his feet and sought his blessings. I also requested him to give me a few suggestions so that I can improve myself. He referred to our director Manish Da (Ghosh) and said he is the man who could help me on this set. When Manish Da said, that I need some suggestion that could help me outside the periphery of this set, he shared some really valuable words,” Suman took a pause and then added, “He said, acting isn’t what you are doing here on this set. Acting is something that you do before stepping into the shooting set. It is something that I take out while stepping out after the pack up. And he was true! I will never forget those words.” Suman shared that he meticulously follows the suggestions even today.
