Sandipta Sen enjoys her first Durga Puja post marriage; Gives Sidur Khela a miss

Sandipta Sen has had slightly different Durga Puja than the newly married women this year. The ‘Bodhon’ famed actress, who tied the knot with her long-time boyfriend Soumya Mukherjee, last December, celebrated her first Durga Puja with her husband post marriage. However, unlike most other married women, Sandipta gave the Sidur Khela a miss this year.

Sandipta kept her Durga Puja itinerary pretty simple this year, keeping the current circumstances post the RG Kar rape-murder incident in mind. The ‘Noshtoneer’ actress had mentioned that everyone in her family was deeply affected by the heinous incident and prayed for justice for the victim and her family. However, Sandipta added that, given this was her and Soumya’s first Durga Puja as a married couple, she wanted the festivities to be somewhat special.
Sandipta revealed that although she had plans to go out with her husband and with her family members during Pujo, she wanted to keep it low-key. In case of gifts as well, the actress didn’t go overboard. Apart from showing up for her work commitments, Sandipta decked up in a simple strawberry themed saree for Ashtomi; while Soumya twinned with her in a pink Panjabi. Although the couple had been attending Ashtomi Anjoli together for past couple of years, this is the first year for them to do the ritual as Mr and Mrs. However, due to flying out of the city on Nabomi, Sandipta missed out on the ritual of Devi Boron and Sidur Khela this year.

Sandipta tied the knot with Soumya on 7^th December, 2023. The couple got hitched in a traditional Bengali style wedding. The couple, who kept their romance a hush-hush affair, opted for a traditional wedding last winter. After months of their wedding, the couple went to their European honeymoon earlier this year.
