Actress Sampurnaa Mondal, who became a household name playing Jagadamba’s character in Bengali TV’s one of the most popular period drama ‘Korunamoyee Rani Rashmoni’, has a new project in her kitty. The young actress will soon be seen in an upcoming OTT project. Sampurnaa has bagged the upcoming season of Byomkesh Bakshi which will star actor Anirban Bhattacharya playing the ‘Satyanweshi’.
Currently seen in period-drama 'Komola O Shreeman Prithviraj', Sampurnaa will play Mukul’s role in web series ‘Pinjrapole’ which is based on eminent author Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s ‘Chiriyakhana’. It has an ensemble star cast. Besides Anirban and Sampurnaa, the season will also have Bhaswar Chatterjee. The latter will play Byomkesh Bakshi’s friend, confidante and constant companion Ajit. Actors Ridhima Ghosh, Moitree Banerjee, Anuska Chakraborty, and others will be seen playing prominent roles. ‘Mandar’ fame Pratik Dutta will be a part of the creative team while Sudipto Roy is directing the new season
.Speaking about Sampurnaa, she stepped into showbiz at a young age. She has been a part of many TV shows including ‘Jay Kali Kalkattawali’, ‘Durga Durgeshwari’, Jeetu Kamal starrer daily soap ‘Hoyto Tomari Jonno’ and others. ‘Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni’ made her popular among the audience. She was paired opposite actor Gourab Chatterjee as the reel pair and their chemistry had managed to woo the audience. Sampurnaa left the show midway and Roshni Bhattacharyya stepped into her shoe.
