Sagnik Chakraborty sent to police custody in actress Pallavi Dey's death case

Sagnik Chakraborty, live-in partner of late actress Pallavi Dey, has been sent to police custody. He was produced to Alipore court on Wednesday after being arrested by police on Tuesday evening. He will be in police custody till May 26.
Pallavi’s family has filed a complaint at Garfa police station alleging some serious charges against Sagnik. Pallavi’s family accused him of murder, criminal conspiracy, financial fraud and few other charges.The name of Pallavi and Sagnik’s friend Oindrila has also been mentioned in the written complaint as an alleged ‘co-conspirator’.
Sagnik was interrogated by police on Monday at Garfa police station where he had to spend the night. Later, after long hours of interrogation in the presence of higher police officials, he was arrested on Tuesday evening. Police sources suggest there are some discrepancies in his statement which led to his arrest. Meanwhile, based on the allegations made by Pallavi’s family regarding the monetary transactions from the joint accounts of the late actress and Sagnik, police had sought statements from the respective bank.
Meanwhile, cops questioned Pallavi’s househelp Salima Sardar who made some shocking revelations including the fact that Oindrila had visited Pallavi’s flat in her absence. On the other hand, an old incident involving Sagnik and Oindrila has also surfaced. Parents of Sagnik’s ex-girlfriend Soumi Mondal’s parents have alleged that their daughter died by suicide and blamed Sagnik for the same. They also spoke about Oindrila’s presence in Sagnik’s life.
