Roshnai: Will Aranyak be able to save Roshnai from Rajesh?

‘Roshnai’, the new Bengali television show, revolves around the story of a girl who is a dancing protégé. Roshnai, the female protagonist of the show, is a self-taught dancer living in Banaras. She inherits her talent in dancing from her mother Sudarshana. However, Sudarshana does not support her daughter Roshnai in her dancing quest, as she herself has been relentlessly shamed for the same.Roshnai grows up in a neighbourhood that is rich in culture and performing arts, but life seems to toughen her up. At this point, Roshnai comes across Aranyak, a soft-spoken photographer who finds joy in little things and is deeply moved by Roshnai’s talent.
Roshnai faces a grave crisis as her mother passes away. Roshnai’s uncle Prakash earlier spoke to Sudarshana about Roshnai’s marriage. After Sudarshana’s death, Rajesh, the antagonist of the show, volunteers to marry Roshnai. Being aware of Rajesh’s background and his nature, Roshnai is scared to even think about marrying him but she has nowhere to go. Aranyak, on the other hand, wants to ensure Roshnai’s safety at any cost. Roshnai hatches a plan in her mind and she goes on to execute that on her wedding day. She runs away from the wedding venue and bumps into Aranyak. Will Aranyak be able to save Roshnai from Rajesh’s clasp?
‘Roshnai’, helmed by writer, director and producer Leena Gangopadhyay and directed by Saibal Banerjee, stars actress Anushka Goswami in the titular role. She has been seen in the show as a dancer. Sean Banerjee plays the character of the male protagonist, Aranyak, in ‘Roshnai’. ‘Roshnai’ stars Kamalika Banerjee, Reshmi Sen, Ushasie Chakraborty, Sudip Mukherjee, Lekha Chatterjee among other characters.
Sean Banerjee is one of the most popular heroes on Bengali television. The model-turned-actor rose to fame with his portrayal of Dr Ujaan Chattrjee in the romantic medical drama series ‘Ekhane Aakash Neel’. The handsome hunk has made a comeback to Bengali TV with a new show after two years. On the other hand, ‘Pariah’ fame director Tathagata Mukherjee has taken up the responsibility of embodying Rajesh.
