Wait is over! Detective Gora, who impressed the viewers with his ‘unique’ ways of solving cases, is ready to take fans on a new journey with its second season. Starring actor Ritwick Chakraborty in the titular role and Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as his sidekick, ‘Gora 2’ will premiere on
June 30. Viewers have been eagerly waiting for the brand-new season for quite some time. Conceptualised by Sahana Dutta, web series Gora’s premiering season witnessed a good response from the audience. Last year in September, makers announced the second edition of the series.
‘Gora’ follows the story of Gourab Sen ka Gora, a private investigator. In the long list of private investigators in Bengali fiction, what makes Gora different, is his eccentric nature and out-of-the-box ways to approach and solve a case. Besides solving cases, music is his other passion. He doesn’t like to solve petty theft or similar cases and strongly believes he is there only to solve critical cases involving serial killers.
Directed by Sayantan Ghosal, the first season, divided in 8 episodes, started streaming in January 2022 and tasted instant success. Ritwik-Suhotra’s jodi and the comic relief in the detective story made the series popular. Actors Ishaa Saha, Ananya Sen, Anuradha Roy, Abhijit Guha, Payel De, Koushik Chattopadhyay and Judhajit Sarkar played prominent roles in the first edition.
