Ritabhari Chakraborty-Abir Chatterjee starrer ‘Fatafati’ set for digital premiere
Aritra Mukherjee directed ‘Fatafati’ is ready to entertain the audience on a digital platform. The movie, which is one of the most-talked about recent releases in Tollywood, will now stream on a leading OTT platform. The same platform streams Chanchal Chowdhury’s critically acclaimed Bangladeshi movie ‘Hawa’.
‘Fatafati’ features two very popular artists of Tollywood as the lead pair. Actors Ritabhari Chakraborty and Abir Chatterjee played the lead roles in this movie, produced by Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee. Abir and Ritabhari’s jodi stole the hearts of viewers. Their reel chemistry was certainly one of the reasons behind Fatafati’s success.
The movie follows Phullora, a seamstress-turned-influencer’s life. She lives with her husband Bachaspati in a small town. Although Phullora has a happy life, she has to face mean words because of her weight almost regularly. Biki, on the other hand, is a fashion and wellness influencer. She is Phullora’s neighbor, who is quite particular about the way she looks. Biki is also among those who don’t miss an opportunity to attack Phullora because of her bodyweight. Phullora decides to do something constructive that makes things easier not just for her but also those who have to face body-shaming. With the help of her brother-in-law, Phullora starts a social media page that promotes body-positivity.
Ritabhari plays Phullora’s role while Abir essays Bhachaspati’s character. Swastika Dutta, who is currently busy with television show ‘Tomar Khola Hawa’, returned to the silver screen as influencer Biki Sen.
Besides them, the movie features some of the most popular artists of this industry including Soma Chakraborty, Raktim Samanta, Arijita Mukhopadhyay, Sanghasree Sinha, Asmee Ghosh, Loknath Dey in prominent roles. Actress Subhashree Ganguly’s elder sister Deboshree played a meaty role in the movie too.
‘Fatafati’ will have its digital premiere next month.

'Fatafati' Is Way Above 'Motamuti' And Way Ahead Of 'Tadatadi'If you have ever lived in Bengal or are blessed to have Bengali friends around you, who somehow cannot resist and often indulge in speaking their mother tongue while you watch them, enjoying their sorties, these three words used in the subject line are definitely not new to you.- Fatafati (फाटाफाटी) - A word that 'Motamuti' expresses excellence of higher order शानदार, जोरदार, बढ़िया धांसू. - Motamuti (मोटामुटी) - A word that 'Tadatadi' expresses anything that is on an average तकरीबन तकरीबन, लगभग लगभग.- Tadatadi (ताड़ाताड़ी) - A word that unlike above two words, expresses the dire need to hurry up whichever way it can, जितना जल्दी हो सके, एकदम, तुरंत, शीघ्रता से."Fatafati" - an Aritra Mukherjee directed Bengali movie, dubbed in many languages including Hindi and released on OTT platform on Sony Liv on 4th August 2023 is "Motamuti" a pure, fresh and unpolished diamond on an irresistible offer that should be "Tadatadi" availed, watched for some clean, inspiring and rejuvenating entertainment.Though the movie quickly establishes a heart to heart connection with all type of or different age group of viewers, if you have ever lived in Kolkata or in Bengal in general, it would go an extra mile to make you feel at home.No doubt, the movie could have been a real masterpiece had some finer points been attended, decorated and celebrated in a logically placed sequence or order, but even then the sheer purity of intent, inherent simplicity of expression and abundant clarity in content with which the story unfolds beautifully, makes it a cut above the rest.In times when violence, action and vulgarity are considered as a certain winning formula, especially on OTT, 'Fatafati' stands out as a clean entertainment trendsetter movie which is likely to inspire many budding Phulloras of our world to blossom into a beautiful flower, spreading the fragrance of love, trust and excellence, wherever they are.Though I can go on writing about this small budget wonder that is full of human feelings, priceless sentiments and natural emotions, saying anything further, may actually reveal the plot, I want you to explore, discover and enjoy on your own.It is a must watch movie that should be enjoyed with entire family watching it together - do share your reflections after viewing it.We simply loved being a part of this beautiful story,In gratitude, NiTiNRead allPost comment
