Actress Sriparna Roy, who managed to strike a chord with the audience playing protagonist
Paromita, in ‘Kori Khela’ is all excited about her next television outing. After keeping her appearance limited to hosting a few episodes of ‘Rannaghar’, Sriparna is back on the small screen.
In Snehasish Chakraborty’s next, she will play a young and bubbly girl. “I have butterflies in my stomach.
I took a brief break after Kori Khela, and viewers used to ask me when I am coming back. I was waiting for something that would excite me as an actor. Dol’s character in Mukut is exactly what I was looking for,” she says. Viewers have seen Sriparna in two different characters in her last two fiction shows, ‘Netaji’ and ‘Kori Khela’. In the period drama, which was based on the life of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, she played Bhibabati Bose while Sriparna’s very next project featured her playing a single mom. She promises to surprise the audience in her upcoming TV show in her brand new avatar.
“Dol’s character is completely different from Kori Khela’s Paromita. She is someone with whom you can easily relate to. She is full of life, easy going and lovable,” the actress adds.
Interestingly, it is not a lead role. When asked whether she was apprehensive about taking up a project that doesn’t feature her as the protagonist, Sriparna says, “I have been flooded with questions regarding this. Yes, it is true, I am not playing the lead. To be honest, Playing lead or not doesn’t really matter till it gives me the opportunity to explore as an artist. Moreover, I have complete faith in Snehasish Da. He is my mentor who brought me to the industry. I didn’t know ABC of acting yet, but he put his trust in me. I am sure that Dol will win viewers’ hearts just like Tushi from my debut show or Kori Khela's Paromita did.”
