'Playing a simple and innocent guy like Gangaram is challenging,' says actor Abhishek Bose

New television serial ‘Gangaram’ starring Abhishek Bose and Sohini Guha Roy is set to launch soon. It will narrate the story of a simple and innocent guy named Gangaram. Music plays a vital role in his life.
Abhishek, who was previously seen playing the titular role in ‘Netaji’, is excited to portray Gangaram's character.
He says, “Music plays a vital role in Gangaram’s life.But what makes him even more interesting is the fact that Gangaram finds melody and rhythm in almost every sound around him; be it the sound while placing a cup-plate or any other thing. His dad owns a band. Sometimes Gangaram has to join the band to play Sanai. He can play Ektara and many other indigenous musical instruments.”
Gangaram’s simplicity made Abhishek fall in love with the character. “He is a very honest guy and speaks from his heart. Gangaram is very innocent that’s what made me like the character even more. We have seen people like Gangaram around us, who are so simple and innocent. I have also met such people. It’s just that I didn’t get a chance to play such roles on-screen. Playing a simple and innocent guy like Gangaram is challenging and that's what makes it thrilling too,” says Abhishek.
The actor shares a few similarities with his reel character too. “Just like Gangaram, I love music. I have a serious side and as well as a jovial side. Just like Gangaram, I sing songs, love to make people laugh. I am trained in classical music,” adds Abhishek. To play the character, he is learning how to play Sanai.
Actress Sohini is playing a rich and spoiled brat in this upcoming show. “I am playing Tyra. She belongs to a rich and influential family. Tyra is rude and her first encounter with Gangaram is quite interesting. It’s a fight with which their journey begins. ”
The ‘Mayurpankhi’ actress shared that she is completely opposite to her reel character Tyra. “In real life, I am completely opposite to Tyra. I am soft spoken and Tyra’s first encounter with Gangaram starts on a high decibel. Playing Tyra is quite a challenge,” says the actress.
