Shoot of Bengali TV show ‘Rani Rashmoni’ stalled following a protest by vendors
The shoot of television serial ‘Rani Rashmoni’ is on halt yet again. This time it is due to the payment dues of the vendors, close industry sources suggest. The shoot of the popular period-drama was stalled since yesterday when the vendors protested against the production house handling the show.
A crew member associated with the show said, “Today we are not shooting.
Just like the actors, the vendors are yet to be paid. Yesterday, the shoot suddenly halted due to the protest from the vendors. This might affect the telecast of the show but at the same time, we can’t neglect the payment dues as well. We depend on this.”
The shoot of the serial along with two other shows ‘Debi Choudhurani’ and ‘Manasa’ was affected last week due to payment issues of the actors. ‘Manasa’ went off-air last week while the channels airing ‘Debi Choudhurani’ and ‘Rani Rashmoni’ couldn’t air fresh episodes due to the issue.
After the assurance of Artists’ Forum and channels, the shoots resumed last week. The actors, who are yet to get their payments from the said production house, sought help from Artists’ Forum to get their dues cleared. The representatives of Artists’ Forum assured all kind of help to the actors.
