Paran Bandyopadhyay, Dev starrer ‘Tonic’ ready for World TV Premiere

Making this weekend extravagant, a number of special television offerings are ready to woo the audience. Along with the daily dose of entertainment in terms of daily soaps and non-fiction shows, there will be some special treats for the Bengali audience. Movie ‘Tonic’, directed by Avijit Sen is ready for its World Television Premiere.

Released in 2021, ‘Tonic’ features senior artists Paran Bandyopadhyay, Shakuntala Barua alongside Tolly heartthrob Dev. The light-hearted family entertainer narrates an emotional story that revolves around an elderly couple Jaladhar Sen and Uma (played by Paran Bandyopadhyay and Shakunala Barua respectively). They live with their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Jaladhar and Uma’s life becomes difficult because of their son’s attitude and his constant interference. The elderly couple, who had planned a happy life after Jaladhar’s retirement, feels bad when their son celebrates his wedding anniversary in a big way but hosts a small family gathering for parents’ 46th anniversary. Jaladhar plans a foreign trip for themselves and that’s how they meet travel agent Tonic. Unfortunately, the trip gets cancelled because of Uma’s passport issues.

Shattered by their yet another dream meeting a tragic end, Jaladhar-Uma decides to settle for a trip to Darjeeling. Thanks to Tonic, their trip becomes a life-changing moment for the couple. Travel agent Tonic fulfills all dreams of the elderly couple.

The movie also stars Rajatava Dutta, Biswanath Basu, Sujan Mukherjee, Ambareesh Bhattacharya and others playing prominent roles. ‘Tonic’ will have its World TV Premiere tomorrow on a leading channel.
