After Goyenda Ginni Parama, footballer bahu Joyee, badminton player Diya, singer-RJ bahu Krishnakoli and gymnast bahu in ‘Alta Phoring’, and cricketer Uma, it’s time for Bengali TV to welcome female special crime branch officer Jagaddhatri. The otherwise sweet girl, who is always in a dilemma, can quickly transform into a fearless officer when duty calls. And, upcoming TV show ‘Jagaddhatri’, will narrate her story. Newbie Ankita Mallick, who has worked as a model prior to this, has been roped in for the character.
According to the story, female protagonist Jagaddhatri lost her mom at an early age and had to witness the harsh side of reality. Neighbours and friends know her as a shy girl who is always hesitant. They have no idea about her fearless side and her occupation either.
The new TV show will feature Soumyadeep Mukherjee as the male lead. He was recently seen in female-centric TV show ‘Teen Shaktir Aadhar-Trishul’. He played the male lead and was paired opposite popular actress Tumpa Ghosh. In the soon-to-be-launched show, Soumyadeep will also play the role of a crime branch officer who works in protagonist Jagaddhatri’s team. The show will have an ensemble cast and will feature some of the most popular artists in supporting roles including veteran artist Soma Dey, actress Kanchana Moitra and many others.
Besides this show, Bengali TV is awaiting a series of new launches including ‘Dance Dance Junior Season 3’ which will premiere today, ‘Nabab Nandini’ and ‘Canning Er Minu’ .
