Mithai is back; replaces ‘Gantchhora’ from numero uno spot

Bengali television serial ‘Mithai’ is back in the game! The Soumitrisha Kundoo and Adrit Roy starrer show has bagged the numero uno spot on the TRP charts after a long time. Meanwhile, ‘Gantchhora’ has slipped to the second position after dominating the number one spot on the TRP charts for almost 14 weeks.
‘Mithai’, which once dominated the TRP charts, was lagging viewership for quite some time.‘Gantchhora’ outshined the show in terms of TRPs and was mostly seen at the top position these days.
The latest storyline of ‘Mithai’ which revolves around male protagonists Siddhartha and Mithai’s closeness, his (Siddhartha’s) interest in his family’s business and Torsha’s conspiracies to humiliate him seem to have worked in favour of the show. On the other hand, makers have been adding back-to-back twists in ‘Gantchhora’. The current storyline focuses on Dyuti and Rahul’s relationship besides protagonist Khori and Riddhiman’s marital life.
Two Bengali shows have jointly secured the third spot on TRP charts. They are ‘Alta Phoring’ and ‘Anurager Chhowa’. Arnab Banerjee and Kheyali Mondal starrer ‘Alta Phoring’ has been scoring well since the beginning. And ‘Anurager Chhowa’, the remake of hit Telugu daily soap ‘Karthika Deepam’, enjoys good popularity too. The storyline revolves around Surya and Deepa’s wedding.
After quite some time, Neel Bhattacharya and Sheenjini Chakraborty starrer ‘Uma’ can be spotted in the top 5 club. It has bagged the fourth spot.
Newly launched TV show ‘Gouri Elo’ has made its presence felt in terms of TRP. This week, it is in the fifth spot.
