The actress was in for a pleasant surprise when the neighbours, whom she considers as her family brought her homemade pudding, payesh and other delicacies, just like her mom used to cook on her birthday. Manali, who lost her mom a few years back turned overtly emotional by the gesture. “Yesterday, my neighbours whom I consider as my didi and Masimoni, left me all emotional. Manali has flooded with wishes from her friends and dear ones since last night. Her beau Abhimanyu wished her right at midnight. “Abhimanyu is putting so much of effort to make my birthday special. Manali is very popular, thanks to her affable nature. The actress has many friends in this industry with whom she shares a very close bond. Geetashree Roy, Ushasi Ray and Shreema Bhattacharjee are among them. The trio wished her last night over a video call. "They lit candles while making the video call. I was touched by the surprise. It left me in tears," said Manali.

“Due to lockdown, I had no plan. The love and warmth already made the day very special. Little did I know, my neighbours would cook the dishes I love most and make my eyes moist. Having a birthday like this amid lockdown is really special. I will always treasure this,” she said.

When asked about birthday wish, the bubbly actress said, “I want everything to normalise soon. I want everyone to be happy.”

From 'Bou Kotha Kao' to 'Nakshi Kantha', Manali has come a long way. She is playing the lead character Shabnam in the show ‘Nakshi Kantha’ and has been highly praised for her performance. Manali, who is keeping her creative juice flowing with shooting for short films amid the lockdown, was left emotional with the rerun of her show ‘Bou Kotha Kao’.
