Late actress Aindrila Sharma’s mom battling cancer for the second time; undergoing treatment

Actress Aindrila Sharma’s mother Shikha Sharma has been diagnosed with cancer. She is suffering from bladder cancer and currently undergoing treatment. She is likely to undergo a surgery this month. Sources suggest, Shikha received test results indicating cancer right before her daughter Aindrila fell critically ill and eventually slipped into coma in November 2022.After putting up a fierce battle against all the odds, the actress, who herself was a cancer survivor for the second time, passed away on November 20.
Aindrila’s mom has been diagnosed with cancer for the second time. Shikha, who is a medical professional, was diagnosed with cancer several years back and underwent chemotherapy. She was declared cancer-free after completing the chemotherapy session.
After losing their youngest daughter, Aindrila’s parents went back to Berhampore, Murshidabad, which is their native place. They occasionally came to Kolkata too.
When Aindrila was diagnosed with cancer for the first time, she was in school. Her parents and sister Aishwarya have always been her pillar of strength. Aindrila’s father and sister both are doctors. The actress was diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in her lung and underwent a critical surgery and chemotherapy session. After winning the battle against cancer for the second time, Aindrila resumed work too. She did two OTT projects and was also a part of Mahalaya special TV program ‘Debi Doshomohabidya’, starring Rituparna Sengupta as Mahishasuramardini. Last year on November 1, the actress suffered a brain stroke and eventually slipped into coma.
