Last seen in television show ‘Aay Tobe Sohochori’, actress Koneenica Banerjee will soon be seen in a new web series. The actress, who was unwell for quite some time and underwent a critical surgery on her spinal chord, last year in Chennai, will essay a prominent role in Sourav Chakraborty’s upcoming OTT series. Koneenica will be paired opposite director-actor Koushik Ganguly in the series. The latter will play a prominent political figure in Sourav’s directorial ‘Rajneeti’ and Koneenica will be seen as his wife. Ditipriya Roy, on the other hand, will essay her reel daughter in the political thriller series.
Koneenica has been a part of many TV shows and movies in her career and the character she would be essaying in the series is quite interesting. Her reel character has multiple shades. Series ‘Rajneeti’ will portray the struggle of woman who is both a dutiful wife and loving mother. The tussle between the two roles will be painted through Koneenica’s reel character.
‘Rajneeti’ will also feature actors Arjun Chakravarty, Aniruddha Gupta and others in prominent roles.
Speaking about Koneenica’s past few projects, her performance in Avijit Sengupta directed ‘Projapoti’, which featured Mithun Chakraborty and Dev as father-son duo, was highly appreciated by audience as well as critics. On the other hand, Koneenica was last seen in TV show ‘Aay Tobe Sohochori’. The show went off-air bit abruptly when the actress was had to undergo a critical surgery in last August. After the surgery, which took place in a private hospital in Chennai, Koneenica suffered from hoarseness and underwent voice therapy. After recovery, she has been working full-fledged.
