Joy Kumar Mukherjee bags the lead role in an upcoming fantasy-drama

Joy Kumar Mukherjee is soon going to make a comeback. He will soon be seen in a fantasy drama. The actor made headlines after allegedly harassing his co-star Aindrila Sharma on the set of ‘Jiyon Kathi’.Alindrila complained about the same to the makers. Soon, Joy was ousted from the show and was reportedly blacklisted for some time. However, Joy had denied all the charges then and claimed he is innocent. Actor Somraj Maity replaced Joy in the show. Since then, Joy wasn’t seen making much public appearances.Coming back to his upcoming project, the show is based on the stories of ‘Bikram and Betal’. Joy will play king Bikramaditya while versatile actor Subhasish Mukherjee will be seen playing Betaal’s role. The shooting has already started. This is not the first time, a television show is being made based on this story. Hindi TV show ‘Vikram and Betaal’ used to be aired on DD National. Arun Govil essayed king Vikramaditya while Sajjan played Betaal’s role. The show was quite popular.Joy is hopeful about his comeback. The actor has been a part of Bengali films. Later, he also played the lead in ‘Chokher Tara Tui’ which was an instant hit. The daily soap initially starred Ritabhari Chakraborty opposite Joy. Later, actress Ipsita Mukherjee replaced her in the show.Joy’s personal life has been a topic of discussion many a times. He reportedly harassed his ex-girlfriend and actress Sayantika Banerjee too.
