‘Jar Jetha Ghar’ finds its way to Bengali television; Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay's acclaimed literary work features in ‘Sahityer Shera Somoy’ series

‘Sahityer Shera Somoy’ is a popular series currently up and running on Bengali television. The series features notable literary works, adapted for the small screen to entertain the audience. For the sixth story, Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay's acclaimed novel ‘Jar Jetha Ghar’ has found its way to the popular series.

Based on the renowned Bengali author Shri Ashutosh Mukhpadyay's novel, this recently launched story will beautifully highlight the society of the 70’s era and the various challenges it used to impose on ordinary people. It will reveal the real complexities of human relationships, inner corruption, and family conspiracies, the challenges of love, and the diverse shades of a woman’s psychology.

The lead actor for ‘Jar Jetha Ghar’, Pranay Chandra says, "I feel privileged with my new onscreen journey as Sunanda Bose in Jaar Jetha Ghar in Sahityer Shera Somoy. It is an adaptation of a well-known literary work of an eminent author. As the storyline throws light on the 70’s era, so resurrecting the societal cultures, costumes, and individual personality of the hero with whom the audience can easily feel and establish that connection is tough but interesting. Joyeeta Goswami, who essays the role of the female protagonist in the story, says, "Essaying the character of Arati in Jaar Jetha Ghar is an absolute pleasure for me. Arati, by nature, is an affectionate, jovial, and independent woman who declines to surrender to any kind of personal and social limitations. This particular character is quite unique and bears a different appeal from all the other onscreen roles in which I have previously acted."

Jaar Jetha Ghar in Sahityer Shera Somoy also casts the actors Chandraniv, Pratik Ganguly, Shankar Chakraborty, Chaitali Chakraborty, Rimjhim Das, Soumi Banerjee, Jyotirmoy and Piyali Das in the other significant roles. This new series is directed by Sajal Bose.
