Actor
Mainak Banerjee is seen on television after a long time. Mainak, who has been busy with films and web series these days, is elated to be a part of the newly launched TV drama ‘Dhulokona’. He is essaying a prominent character in the show that also features actors
Manali Manisha Dey
and
Indrasish Roy.
“I am playing an interesting character in the show. The name of my reel character is Taan.
Taan
belongs to a middle class joint family. He has a good job and his family is quite proud of Taan's achievements,”
Mainak
adds.
Things take an intersting turn when Taan buys a car.
“Middle class families always try to find happiness in small things. These days, almost every other family owns a car but it wasn’t the case even a few years back. Buying a car was no less than a celebration to a middle class family. So, when Taan buys a car, his family cherishes it like a treasure. Right from taking utmost care of the car, using a mosquito net to protect it from dirt to appointing a driver, his family does it all,” says the actor.
Indrasish, who is playing Lalan, an aspiring singer, is appointed by the family as a driver. Manali, on the other hand, is playing
Phuljhuri
, a domestic help who works at Taan’s place.
Mainak shared how much he is enjoying playing Taan’s character. “Taan’s character is quite interesting. Right from his lyrical name to his characterisation, everything has been beautifully created by Leena di,” Mainak shares.
When asked the reason behind signing up for the TV show, Mainak adds, “I had quite some offers from television but never agreed. I was waiting for a good story and a meaty character. I believe Dhulokona has given me the opportunity. Taan’s character has several shades. While his family is very much proud of him, Taan enjoys all the attention and respect. He is a bit of a snob but good at heart. He is ambitious too. The character has several layers that will open up as the story progresses. Moreover, I got the opportunity to work with some of the finest actors of this industry and who would like to miss it?”
