It's a dream come true moment for me: Actor Rahul Dev Bose on bagging a film
Rahul Dev Bose was merely 11 when he started dreaming about acting and casting a spell on the silver screen just like he was other heroes while growing up. His hard work has finally paid off. The handsome actor, who recently left the audience mesmerised by essaying Maheem Sen’s character in ‘
Rahul is currently in Guskara,
With butterflies in his stomach, Rahul was waiting for the shooting. “My first day at shoot has been amazing as well as hectic, to be honest. I have been nervous and excited at the same time. The crew members are really helpful and patient. Our director is one of the sweetest people I have met in the longest time but he's also a tough task master. He has been very particular about what he wants from our characters on-screen. I felt a profound difference in the style of acting expected of me as opposed to my forays on television. To be honest, I have taken some time to adjust but the entire team was very co-operative and I have been given a lot of patience to work it out. I'm slowly getting into the groove with the character,” says Rahul.
The actor has been a part of several television shows. ‘Bajlo Tomar Alor Benu’ was his first television serial as a lead. Interestingly, Rahul has been mostly seen playing negative characters in the TV shows. Speaking about the same, Rahul adds, “I believe, the section of the audience who have followed my television career, people who kept asking me when they will see me in roles other than the out and out villainous roles, that have helped me carve a niche on television for myself, will be happy to see me in a film.”
Rahul is sharing the screen with his good friend Ishaa. Interestingly, years back, Rahul and Ishaa attended an audition organised by a leading TV channel. They were quite young. Though Ishaa bagged a project, Rahul’s luck didn’t click. But they continued their friendship. And after all these years, Rahul and Ishaa are finally sharing the screen.
“Ishaa and I are friends for the longest time now. Our acting careers started at around the same time and we auditioned together for a television show before we got our breaks on-screen. She had cleared that audition we had given together whereas I would go on to find my first break a year later. But we had this strong desire since that day. We knew we would share the screen together. It’s been years but now I have the good fortune of appearing on screen with my best friend,” adds Rahul.
The actor is having a jolly good time working with his real-life best friend. “Working with your best friend is a joy even though we do pull each other’s leg a lot on the shooting floor (laughs). Ishaa is a magnificent actress. It's already been an enriching experience working opposite an actor of her calibre. The schedule is quite hectic and the rhythm we are working at is intense but what makes it a little easier is the really scenic location we are shooting at. It has a vibe and energy of its own and it seems we are going to have a great time shooting the film for sure,” Rahul shared before signing off.
