Anindita Sarkar, who used to play Rai in Andarmahal, got a lot of applause from the audience for her acting prowess. “I played Rai, Konidi’s sister (Konineeca Banerjee), who played a major role in getting her married on the show,” said Anindita. She added, “After Andarmahal went off air, I got lot of offers, but the characters were very similar to that of Rai's. So, I rejected them all.
That apart, I also got offers to act in historical and mythological shows. I refused them too. I want to be part of serials that are different in terms of content and characterisation. I enjoy doing non-fiction, so I enjoy shooting for Sampoorna, as I can always be myself and can talk about things which I want to — something that is not script bound. There, I can also interact with so many people. I prefer non-fictions more than fictions.”
Currently, the actress is on cloud nine after having worked with Atanu Ghosh in the film, Binisutoy. “During the initial days of my career, I had worked with Atanuda for a telefilm. And now, after years, I am again doing this film with him. I play Sushmita, who is Ritwick Chakraborty’s friend and has a soft corner for him too. It is not a lengthy role, but integral to the film’s story. It was a wonderful experience working with such a humble actor like Ritwick. And Atanuda is like a teacher on the sets. You can learn so much from him,” said Anindita, who worked in a short film, titled Tetoh Modhu, on child diabetis.
