Ipsita Mukherjee opens up about divorce with Arnab Banerjee

Ipsita Mukherjee and Arnab Banerjee have parted ways. Rumours were rife for a while that there was trouble in paradise. The couple recently confirmed that they had decided to part ways. After the news of their divorce broke, Ipsita recently opened up regarding the same and her equation with Arnab.

Ipsita recently spoke about her divorce with Arnab in an interview and revealed that “We have been separated for a long time. The divorce proceedings are going on. We had no social marriage, but just a registry. We are having a mutual divorce. Many such things happen in life. I wish good for Arnab.” Ipsita also mentioned that it was Arnab who came to a conclusion that they could not be together. Ipsita told, “Arnab thought that it wasn’t possible for us to stay together. I respected his decision.”

Arnab and Ipsita legally married each other in 2022. The duo exchanged rings during the ceremony. However, the couple did not opt for a social marriage back then. After two and a half years of courtship, Arnab and Ipsita have decided to part ways.

Arnab and Ipsita met each other on the set of Bengali serial ‘Alo Chhaya’. ‘Alo Chhaya’ starred Debadrita Basu and Oindrila Bose as the female leads Alo and Chhaya. Arnab played the male lead Akash on the show, whereas Ipsita was seen as the on-screen sister-in-law of him. The duo fell in love with each other while working on the show. However, the news of their relationship came out a little later. Almost a year after ‘Alo Chhaya’s conclusion, Arnab and Ipsita registered their marriage. In January 2022, the couple exchanged rings and married each other legally. However, they did not mention if their social marriage was on the cards. After over two years of courtship, Arnab and Ipsita called it quits.

There were rumours of trouble in paradise in Arnab and Ipsita’s marriage. The speculations got momentum when Arnab was absent from Ipsita’s film’s premiere. Arnab was rumoured to be involved in an extra-marital affair. However, the couple later decided to resolve their issues amicably. They jetted off to the mountains to spend time with each other. Arnab was treated to a sumptuous Jamai Sasthi lunch in 2023 by Ipsita’s family. However, the happiness was short-lived. As per insiders, both Arnab and Ipsita tried to make their relationship work but in vain. The couple filed for divorce earlier this year. Their divorce is expected to be finalised by the end of July.
