I still enjoy auto rickshaw rides, says ‘Nakshikantha’ actor Suman Dey

’s ‘Joshojit’, actor Suman Dey has come a long way. The model-turned- actor, who enjoys a huge fan base for his charm, still follows a simple lifestyle.

Where most of the actors of tinsel town are concerned about their celebrity status, Suman still rides auto rickshaw and metro.

The actor says, “I believe in a simple life style. I still ride auto and metro rail and enjoy every moment of it. Even last month, I took an auto ride. I also avail shared app-based cab service if required.”

But doesn’t his co-passenger recognise their ‘Josh da’?

While answering the question, the actor laughed out loud and said, “Yes my co-passengers keep looking at me and try to identify whether I am the same person they have seen on-screen. Sometimes they ask me questions or click selfie.”

He shared an interesting incident during one such ride. Once Suman took a shared cab ride and his co-passenger, who was a dentist couldn’t hide his curiosity. Suman said, “My co-passenger was looking at me continuously and finally asked whether I am Joshojit from Nakshikantha. The moment, I said yes, he happily shared how his mother loves watching the serial. He was apparently surprised to see me taking a shared cab service. He asked me whether we can click a selfie so that he can show it to his mother.” The actor laughed while sharing. Suman is still in touch of his dentist co-passenger.

The actor, who is quite emotional by nature, shared the reason behind still having a simple lifestyle. “I have been raised this way. My parents have taught me to enjoy simple things in life. I have struggled a lot in my life and have realised that nothing is permanent. If I get used to a particular lifestyle and can’t manage to maintain the same in the future, it will be quite painful, isn’t it?”

The actor, who had his share of struggle in Mumbai, explained how he has seen other actors and models slipping into depression, finding temporary relief in drugs the moment they are unable to continue with their high profile lifestyle.

“We haven’t seen tomorrow. My struggle has taught me to enjoy simple things in life, because that is going to stay with me ever,” Suman concludes on a happy note.
