It has been quite a few years that
actor Vikram Chatterjee
has stopped bursting firecrackers during Diwali. Talking to us about this, the actor said, “I realised that the pets in our house and also the
animals
and birds around us get badly disturbed and frightened by the loud noise o the crackers and it’s also difficult for them to breathe if the environment is polluted with the harmful fumes.” Given the fact that this year has been a very tough time for all of us, and the dark days of the
pandemic
is not over yet, we need to be extra careful about not contributing to the air or noise pollution by bursting firecrackers. “We must think about the patients who are affected by Covid-19 or are recovering from it and be extra cautious of not polluting the environment. Bursting of fire crackers lead to several harmful respiratory diseases due to the
harmful fumes
, which comes out of those. This year, I urge everyone to say #NoToCrackers and let the
Diwali be a celebration of lights.”
