The actress had made up her mind to play Jhuma boudi, after the exit of Swastika Mukherjee’s Uma Boudi, when the makers of Dupur Thakurpo fished out Monalisa from Bhojpuri cinema and presented her as the best boudi possible. Swastika, who was the hottest choice for the web series, left a void by opting out of the second season after a successful first.That’s when the makers held an extensive meeting with Sreelekha, who was clear about not baring her midriff from the start. Finally, both parties agreed to meet halfway, before Monalisa appeared on the horizon and there was no looking elsewhere (but of course!). Sreelekha was upset that the production house kept its alternative plans under wraps and she saw the drama unfold rather late. Often, to see is to believe.
