Bengali General Entertainment Channels (GEC) are coming up with a mixed platter of entertainment to woo the audience. Right from introducing interesting concepts in daily soaps, star-studded reality shows, dubbed shows and television premieres of blockbuster movies, all leading GECs have special offerings aimed at the scoring on the TRP charts. Adding one more to the list, Ekta Kapoor-produced ‘Molkki’ is ready to entertain Bengali viewers with its dubbed version. The Bengali dubbed version is titled as ‘Kena Bou’.

Starring Amar Upadhyay and Priyal Mahajan in the lead roles, ‘Molkki’ deals with the issue of rich men marrying young girls in exchange of money. The story progresses with 19-year-old Purvi, who is forced to marry Virendra Pratap Singh, a very wealthy and influential man.

Virendra, the head of the village, is a widower and has two children. Purvi’s life witnesses a sea change after she comes to the haveli as Virendra’s wife. Initially, he fails to accept Purvi as a wife which causes pain to the latter. Although she accepts her marital relationship is nothing but just a deal, Purvi makes all sorts of efforts to convince Virendra’s kids to accept her. The kind-hearted young girl also plays a crucial part in improving the relationship between Virendra and his children which has been deteriorating over the years.

Launched in November 2020, ‘Molkki’ successfully ran till February 2022. The original show featured actors Toral Rasputra, Mohit Hiranandan, Rithvik Gupta, Supriya Shukla and many others playing prominent roles.

Molkki’s Bengali version ‘Kena Bou’ will be launched this month on the TV channel which airs popular shows like ‘Tumii Je Amar Maa’, ‘Indrani’ and also aired the dubbed version of hit Hindi series ‘Naagin’. It will be interesting to see whether ‘Kena Bou’ manages to woo the audience.
