Romantic drama ‘Choti Sarrdaarni’ was originally launched in 2019 and successfully ran till 2022 by airing more than 800 episodes. The story follows female protagonist Meher Kaur Dhillon’s journey. She is a bubbly girl and the daughter of village Sarpanch Kulwant Kaur. Things take a complete turn when the family learns about Meher’s relationship with a guy named Manav Sharma. By that time, Meher is pregnant and an angry Kulwant stabs Manav and throws him into the river. Later, he forces Meher to marry Sarabjit Singh Gill, a widower. Sabarjit is the president of the ruling party and has a 5 year old son Paramjit. To save her unborn child from Kulwant, Meher agrees to marry Sarab. How, Sarab and Meher, who are poles apart by nature, continue their journey as a couple, forms the major crux of the story.

The Hindi show enjoyed a good viewership, thanks to a simple story that’s high on the emotional quotient and Avinesh-Nimrit’s reel chemistry. It will be interesting to see how the show fares on TRP charts.
